Meet Mrs. Forby

Just a few of my favorite photos with my family! Scroll down to learn a bit more about me!

Welcome! I'm extremely excited to meet you, and am looking forward to a productive, encouraging, fun school year with your child.
I graduated from Goreville High School, and started my college career at Rend Lake while playing softball for the Lady Warriors. After receiving my associate degree, I transferred to Southern Illinois University in Carbondale and graduated in 2007 with a degree in Elementary Education. In 2014 I returned to school to pursue a Master's degree in Educational Administration and Leadership from McKendree University and completed that degree in 2017.
This is my 15th year as a 5th grade teacher at Goreville Elementary and I am honored to be a part of Goreville CUSD. I believe in having fun while achieving high expectations in the classroom. I am a firm believer in the power of positivity, and seek daily to inspire and encourage my students.
Outside of the classroom, I enjoy spending time with my family and friends. I am married to my best friend, Jason, and we have two daughters, Shae and Emma! I am also the proud aunt of 10 nephews, and 4 nieces. Some by blood; others by choice! For enjoyment, I love to spend time with my dog, Winnie, be outdoors hiking, walking, adventuring, or relaxing with a good book! I love gardening and flowers, and take great enjoyment in the beauty of nature's creations. You will also find my husband and I at the gym often as I am a certified Spinning instructor and teach classes at LHW Training Center in Goreville, and enjoy living a healthy, active life. I enjoy seeking to better myself in all aspects, and am a proud daughter of the one true King.
Please contact me if you have any questions or concerns! I am looking forward to a fun-filled year with your student(s)!
